01 - 9 sweet slider buns (King's Hawaiian or brioche)

→ Candied Bacon

02 - 1 lb thick-cut center-cut bacon
03 - 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
04 - 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
05 - 2 teaspoons freshly cracked black pepper
06 - 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes

→ Garlic Butter

07 - 5 tablespoons unsalted butter
08 - 3 garlic cloves, minced
09 - 2 teaspoons parsley, minced

→ Slider Assembly

10 - 1/4 head iceberg lettuce, cut into slider-sized portions
11 - 2-3 Roma tomatoes, thickly sliced
12 - Mayonnaise (about 1 tablespoon per slider)
13 - Salt and pepper, to taste

# Steps:

01 - Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
02 - In a bowl, mix the brown sugar, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and 1 teaspoon of freshly cracked black pepper until evenly combined.
03 - Lay the bacon slices on a baking sheet lined with a wire rack. Sprinkle the brown sugar mixture liberally on both sides of the bacon, rubbing it in thoroughly.
04 - Bake the bacon for 20-25 minutes, flipping the slices during the final 10 minutes. Remove when edges are dark brown. Allow the bacon slices to rest and crisp further as they cool.
05 - In a small bowl, combine butter, minced garlic, and parsley. Heat in the microwave for 20 seconds, or until softened and partially melted.
06 - Spread the garlic butter mixture on the insides of the slider buns. Toast the buns in a large skillet over low heat until golden brown on the buttered sides. Flip and toast the opposite side for about 1 minute until slightly browned.
07 - Slice the bacon strips into thirds. Spread mayonnaise on the bottom halves of the slider buns. Layer each with lettuce, a tomato slice, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Add three bacon portions per slider. Spread mayonnaise on the underside of the top buns and place them on top, toasted side exposed.
08 - Slice the sliders if necessary and serve immediately.

# Tips:

01 - Bacon will crisp further as it cools after baking.
