Classic Dill Pickle Macaroni Salad (Print Format)

Creamy macaroni salad with tangy dill pickles and pickle juice dressing. Perfect for picnics and summer gatherings.

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 cups macaroni pasta
02 - 1/2 cup mayonnaise
03 - 1/4 cup sour cream
04 - 1/4 cup pickle juice
05 - 1 cup chopped dill pickles
06 - 1/4 cup diced red onion
07 - 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill
08 - Salt and pepper to taste

# Steps:

01 - Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add macaroni and cook according to package directions until tender. Drain well and let cool completely - this is important so the dressing doesn't get watery.
02 - In a large mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, and pickle juice until smooth and creamy. The pickle juice adds that signature tangy flavor that makes this salad special.
03 - Add the cooled macaroni, chopped dill pickles, diced red onion, and fresh dill to the bowl with dressing. Toss gently but thoroughly until everything is evenly coated with the creamy mixture.
04 - Taste and add salt and pepper as needed - remember the pickles and pickle juice already add saltiness. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to let all the flavors come together.
05 - Give the salad a good stir before serving since the dressing can settle. Garnish with extra fresh dill or pickle slices if you want to make it look extra special.

# Tips:

01 - Perfect for picnics, potlucks, and barbecue side dishes
02 - Tastes even better the next day as flavors continue to develop
03 - Make sure pasta is completely cool before mixing to prevent watery dressing
04 - Can be made up to 2 days ahead and stored in the refrigerator
