Combine melted butter, extra virgin olive oil, Italian seasoning, and onion powder in a small mixing bowl. Whisk until blended.

Place a 10 to 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium heat.

Generously brush one side of 2 pieces of bread with the butter mixture and place them butter side down in the skillet.

Spread 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce on each bread slice in the skillet. Layer with 1 slice of provolone, 1/4 cup mozzarella, 12 slices of pepperoni, another 1/4 cup mozzarella, and a second slice of provolone. Top with another slice of bread, buttered side up.
