Sweet Balsamic Marinated Steak (Print Format)

Tender steak marinated in sweet balsamic vinegar with brown sugar, garlic, and fresh rosemary. Caramelizes beautifully when seared!

# Ingredients:

→ Perfect Steak

01 - 12 ounces steak (ribeye, New York strip, or sirloin work great)

→ Sweet Balsamic Marinade

02 - ⅓ cup balsamic vinegar
03 - 2 tablespoons soy sauce
04 - 3 tablespoons olive oil
05 - ⅔ cup dark brown sugar
06 - 2 cloves garlic, minced fine
07 - 2 sprigs fresh rosemary, minced
08 - ½ teaspoon kosher salt
09 - ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
10 - ⅓ teaspoon red pepper flakes

# Steps:

01 - Finely mince your garlic cloves and fresh rosemary sprigs. Take your time with this - the finer you mince them, the better they'll distribute throughout the marinade and flavor your steak!
02 - In a bowl, whisk together the balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, brown sugar, and olive oil until that sugar dissolves. Stir in the minced rosemary, garlic, kosher salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. This marinade is going to be absolutely incredible!
03 - Pour this gorgeous marinade into a zip-lock bag, add your steak, and shake well to coat every inch. Seal it up and refrigerate for 6 hours - this gives the sweet and tangy flavors time to really penetrate the meat.
04 - Remove the steak from the marinade and pat it completely dry with paper towels. This step is crucial for getting that beautiful golden crust! Let it come to room temperature for about 15-20 minutes.
05 - Heat a little olive oil in a hot skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steak, giving it that gorgeous crispy exterior while keeping the interior cooked to your perfect level of doneness. The caramelized marinade flavors will create an amazing crust!
06 - Let your beautiful steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing to keep all those delicious juices locked in. Slice against the grain and serve this sweet and savory masterpiece!

# Tips:

01 - This marinade creates the most incredible balance of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors! The brown sugar caramelizes beautifully when you sear the steak, creating an amazing crust.
02 - The combination of balsamic vinegar and soy sauce might sound unusual, but it creates this amazing umami depth that makes the steak absolutely irresistible.
03 - Fresh rosemary is key here - it adds that earthy, aromatic note that pairs perfectly with the sweet balsamic. Don't substitute with dried if you can help it!
