Air Fry Eggs Caramelized Onions (Print Format)

Tender air-fried eggs complement sweet golden caramelized onions for a quick, flavorful meal any time.

# Ingredients:

→ Caramelized Onions

01 - 1 large onion, thinly sliced
02 - 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
03 - ½ teaspoon salt
04 - ½ teaspoon sugar, optional
05 - Pinch of black pepper

→ Eggs

06 - 4 large eggs
07 - Salt and pepper to taste

→ Optional Garnishes

08 - Fresh parsley or chives, finely chopped
09 - Toasted bread or English muffins
10 - Avocado slices
11 - Hot sauce

# Steps:

01 - Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (180°C) for 3 minutes to ensure even cooking and proper caramelization of the onions.
02 - In a small bowl, combine thinly sliced onion with olive oil or butter, salt, black pepper, and sugar if using, tossing well to coat evenly.
03 - Spread the onion mixture in a single thin layer inside the air fryer basket or tray. Air fry for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring or shaking halfway through. If onions brown too quickly, reduce heat to 320°F (160°C) and continue cooking until soft and golden.
04 - Lightly oil small oven-safe dishes or silicone egg cups to prevent sticking. Crack two eggs into each container and season with salt and pepper.
05 - Place egg containers into the air fryer basket. Cook at 320–340°F (160–170°C) for 7 to 10 minutes depending on preferred yolk consistency—7 minutes for runny yolks, 10 minutes for firmer yolks and whites.
06 - Spoon warm caramelized onions over the cooked eggs. Serve on toasted bread or English muffins. Garnish with fresh parsley or chives, avocado slices, and hot sauce as desired.

# Tips:

01 - Do not overcrowd onions during air frying to ensure even caramelization. Sugar is optional but accelerates sweetness development. Cooking times may vary based on air fryer model.
02 - Store cooked eggs and caramelized onions separately in airtight containers refrigerated up to 3 days. Reheat gently to avoid overcooking.
