Soft apple-filled bites (Print Format)

Soft dough hugs warm apple chunks, coated in cinnamon sugar for a quick treat bursting with flavor.

# Ingredients:

→ For the Apple Filling

01 - 2 tablespoons water
02 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch
03 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
04 - 1/3 cup white sugar
05 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
06 - 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and cut into small cubes

→ For the Dough

07 - 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder
08 - 1 cup white sugar
09 - 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
10 - 1 can of pre-made biscuit dough (8 pieces)

# Steps:

01 - Warm up the butter in a medium pan over medium heat. Toss in the apple cubes, followed by the sugar and cinnamon. Let them cook down, stirring occasionally, until the apples soften a little, which takes about 5 minutes. In another small bowl, whisk the water and cornstarch until smooth, then add it to the apples. Stir and cook for an extra minute or two until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and set aside for now.
02 - Set your oven to 375°F and line a baking tray with parchment paper. This makes cleanup a breeze and keeps the little treats from sticking.
03 - Open up the container of biscuit dough and pull the biscuits apart. Using your hands or a rolling pin, press each biscuit flat until it's roughly 1/4-inch thick. No need for perfection—uneven edges add charm!
04 - Put about a spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each flattened piece of dough. Carefully pull the edges up around the filling and pinch them tightly at the top to ensure everything stays sealed inside.
05 - Take each sealed dough ball, dunk it in the melted butter to coat it fully, and then roll it in the cinnamon-sugar blend until it’s evenly covered. Place them seam-side down on your prepared baking tray.
06 - Pop the baking sheet into the oven and cook for 12-15 minutes. You'll know they're ready when they've turned a lovely golden brown and your kitchen smells heavenly.
07 - Wait a few minutes before serving so they’re warm but not overly hot. These little bites are best eaten fresh, with their crispy exterior and gooey, sweet filling.

# Tips:

01 - These little bites pack all the classic apple pie taste without the hassle of making a full pie. Great for gatherings, quick after-school snacks, or anytime you want a fast treat.
02 - Stick to firm apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith. They'll hold their shape better while cooking and bring a tart touch to balance the sugary coating.
03 - You can make these a day or two ahead if needed and leave them on the counter (covered). That said, they're best warm, so reheat slightly in the oven before serving to crisp them up.
