Broccoli Cheddar Biscuit Casserole (Print Format)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 recipe homemade buttermilk biscuits or canned
02 - 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
03 - 1 large yellow onion, finely diced (about 1 cup)
04 - 4 teaspoons garlic, minced
05 - ⅓ cup (42 g) all-purpose flour
06 - 2 cups (480 g) chicken broth
07 - 2 cups (490 g) whole milk, room temperature
08 - 4 cups (364 g) broccoli florets
09 - 1 teaspoon kosher salt
10 - 1 teaspoon black pepper
11 - 1/2 teaspoon cayenne, more or less to taste
12 - 2 cups (140 g) rotisserie chicken, finely shredded
13 - 2 1/2 cups (226 g) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

→ Garlic Butter

14 - 4 tablespoons butter, melted
15 - 1 teaspoon kosher salt
16 - 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
17 - 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, minced

# Steps:

01 - Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly butter a 13x9 baking dish.
02 - In a large skillet over medium heat, add butter and heat until melted. Add diced onion and cook until translucent, about 8 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 additional minute.
03 - Sprinkle flour into skillet and whisk until lightly browned, about 1 minute. Gradually pour in chicken broth and milk, whisking constantly until smooth.
04 - Add broccoli, salt, pepper, and cayenne to the skillet. Bring to a simmer and cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 12-15 minutes or until broccoli is tender.
05 - After the broccoli is tender, stir in shredded chicken and cheese. Mix until cheese is completely melted and combined.
06 - Remove skillet from heat and transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
07 - Open the can of biscuits and place 6 biscuits on top of the casserole.
08 - Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until biscuits are golden brown.
09 - While the casserole is baking, combine melted butter, salt, garlic, and parsley in a small bowl.
10 - Remove casserole from oven and brush the tops of the biscuits with garlic butter. Serve and enjoy!
