Cabbage Beef Soup (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 tbsp vegetable oil.
02 - 1 lb ground beef, lean.
03 - 1 diced medium yellow onion.
04 - 2 minced garlic cloves.
05 - 4 cups cabbage, chopped.
06 - 2 sliced medium carrots (quarter them first).
07 - 4 cups beef broth, low-sodium.
08 - Three 8 oz cans of tomato sauce.
09 - 1/2 cup uncooked white rice.
10 - 1 bay leaf.
11 - 3 tbsp brown sugar, light.
12 - 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley.
13 - Salt and pepper, as you like.

# Instructions:

01 - Warm up your oil in a big pot on medium-high heat.
02 - Toss in the beef, sprinkle it with some salt and pepper.
03 - Stir around until the beef turns brown.
04 - Throw in the onion and garlic, cook for 2-3 minutes.
05 - Add the cabbage, carrots, tomato sauce, and broth into the pot, mix well.
06 - Pour in the rice, bay leaf, and sugar.
07 - Get the pot to a light boil.
08 - Let it go for about 25 minutes until the rice softens up.
09 - Take out the bay leaf once done.
10 - Sprinkle some parsley on top and dig in!
