Let the pastry sit out until it's no longer frozen.

Turn the oven on and get it up to 400°F.

Lay one piece of pastry onto a greased baking pan.

Spread the ham and cheese evenly onto the pastry, leaving about an inch around the edge clean.

Whisk the egg with water in a small bowl to prepare the wash.

Use the egg wash on the edges of the pastry to help it stick.

Add the second pastry sheet over the top and push the edges together to close it.

Make small cuts on top for airflow, then coat the pastry using more of the egg wash.

Put it in the oven for about 20 minutes or until golden and puffed up.

Let it cool for a few minutes, then slice into 8 servings and enjoy warm.
