Cheesy Garlic Green Beans (Print Format)

Green beans tossed in garlicky olive oil, baked and topped with bubbly, golden mozzarella and parmesan.

# Ingredients:

→ Vegetables

01 - 1 lb fresh green beans, ends trimmed

→ Cheese

02 - 1 1/4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
03 - 2 tbsp shredded fresh Parmesan cheese

→ Seasonings and Oil

04 - 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
05 - 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
06 - 3/4 tsp kosher salt
07 - 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper

# Steps:

01 - Set the oven to 425°F (220°C). Spray a baking sheet evenly with nonstick oil to prevent sticking.
02 - Spread the trimmed green beans in a single, even layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they have space for even roasting.
03 - In a small bowl, combine olive oil, Parmesan cheese, chopped garlic, kosher salt, and black pepper. Stir thoroughly to integrate the ingredients.
04 - Drizzle the garlic oil mixture over the green beans. Toss well using gloves or a spatula to ensure each bean is evenly coated.
05 - Place the baking sheet in the oven and roast the beans for 20 minutes until they are bright green and tender with a slight crispness.
06 - Remove the baking sheet and evenly sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the roasted green beans.
07 - Switch the oven to broil. Position the baking sheet on the top rack and broil for 4 to 5 minutes, watching closely until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
08 - Transfer the cheesy garlic green beans to a serving dish and enjoy while warm and gooey.

# Tips:

01 - Dry green beans thoroughly before roasting to achieve optimal crispness.
02 - Use freshly chopped garlic instead of garlic powder for more pronounced flavor.
03 - For a milder cheese melt, alternatively bake at 450°F (232°C) for an additional 5 minutes instead of broiling.
04 - This side pairs well with grilled meats or pasta and can be prepared ahead by trimming beans and combining oil mixture the day prior.
