Cheesy Sloppy Joe Stromboli (Print Format)

Stuffed stromboli filled with savory beef, gooey cheese, and a tangy tomato sauce, baked until golden.

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 pounds ground beef
02 - ½ yellow onion, diced
03 - 2 cups Colby cheese, shredded
04 - 1 canned pizza crust
05 - 15 ounces tomato sauce
06 - ½ cup ketchup
07 - 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
08 - 1 tablespoon brown sugar
09 - 1 teaspoon beef bouillon powder
10 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
11 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
12 - ¼ teaspoon salt
13 - ¼ teaspoon black pepper
14 - 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
15 - 1 tablespoon melted butter

# Steps:

01 - In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the diced onions and ground beef until the meat is no longer pink. Drain any excess grease, then season with Worcestershire sauce, beef bouillon powder, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
02 - Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar until everything is well combined. Turn off the heat and set aside.
03 - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Roll out the pizza dough onto the sheet and press it out evenly.
04 - Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheese over the dough. Spoon the sloppy joe mixture evenly over the top, then sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
05 - Fold the edges of the dough toward the center, overlapping them slightly. Press the ends together or fold them underneath to seal. Cut 4–5 slits across the top and brush with melted butter.
06 - Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown on top. Remove from the oven, slice into pieces, and serve warm.

# Tips:

01 - Let the sloppy joe mixture cool before adding it to the dough to prevent the dough from becoming soft and tearing.
02 - Using Pillsbury refrigerated pizza dough is convenient, but homemade dough can be used as long as it’s rolled out into a rectangle.
03 - Do not overfill the dough to prevent bursting while baking. Extra filling can be saved for sandwiches the next day.
