Combine the butter and cookie mix until it resembles crumbs. Keep 3/4 cup aside for topping.

Spread the rest of the crumbly dough in the pan and bake for about 10 minutes. It should be slightly soft.

Blend the cream cheese, sugar, flour, vanilla, and egg together until it's lump-free.

Pour the cream cheese mix over the crust, then add a layer of cherry filling.

Mix the almonds with the saved crumbs and sprinkle this over the cherries.

Pop it back in the oven and bake for 40 to 45 minutes, until the top has a golden look.
