Chicken Shrimp Sausage Gumbo (Print Format)

Hearty gumbo packed with chicken, shrimp, sausage, and vegetables, finished with fragrant herbs over hot rice.

# Ingredients:

→ Protein

01 - ½ lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
02 - ½ lb smoked sausage, sliced
03 - ½ lb chicken breast, cooked and shredded

→ Base

04 - ½ cup flour
05 - ½ cup vegetable oil

→ Vegetables

06 - 1 onion, diced
07 - 1 green bell pepper, diced
08 - 2 celery stalks, diced

→ Liquids

09 - 4 cups chicken broth
10 - 1 can diced tomatoes (14 oz)

→ Seasonings

11 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
12 - 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
13 - 1 tsp paprika
14 - 1 bay leaf
15 - Salt and black pepper to taste

→ Additional

16 - 2 cups cooked white rice
17 - Chopped parsley for garnish

# Steps:

01 - In a large pot, whisk flour and oil over medium heat until dark brown.
02 - Add onion, bell pepper, and celery. Cook until softened.
03 - Stir in garlic and sausage; cook for 3–4 minutes.
04 - Add chicken, diced tomatoes, broth, Cajun seasoning, paprika, bay leaf, salt, and pepper.
05 - Simmer uncovered for 30–40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
06 - Add shrimp during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
07 - Remove bay leaf and serve hot over rice. Garnish with parsley before serving.
