Place the chicken breasts evenly in the prepared baking dish. Spoon the creamy sauce over the chicken, then spread the softened stuffing mixture on top. Drizzle melted butter over the stuffing.

Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese (if using), and bake uncovered for another 10-15 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) and the stuffing is golden brown.
