Chinese Pepper Steak Onions (Print Format)

Tender steak with crisp peppers and onions stir-fried in a savory sauce. Serve hot with steamed rice.

01 - 1 1/4 lbs flank or sirloin steak, thinly sliced
02 - 1/2 red bell pepper, sliced
03 - 1/2 green bell pepper, sliced
04 - 1/2 yellow bell pepper, sliced
05 - 1 large onion, thickly sliced
06 - 2 garlic cloves, minced
07 - 1 tbsp ginger, optional
08 - 2-3 tbsp vegetable oil

→ Marinade

09 - 2 tbsp soy sauce
10 - 1 tbsp oyster sauce
11 - 1 tbsp cornstarch
12 - 1 tsp sesame oil

→ Sauce Mix

13 - 1/4 cup soy sauce
14 - 1 tbsp oyster sauce
15 - 1 tbsp hoisin sauce, optional
16 - 1 tbsp brown sugar
17 - 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
18 - 2 tsp cornstarch
19 - 2 tbsp water

# Steps:

01 - Combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Marinate the beef for 15-30 minutes.
02 - Heat vegetable oil in a pan or wok. Sear the beef in batches until browned. Remove and set aside.
03 - In the same pan, sauté garlic, ginger, onions, and bell peppers for 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp.
04 - Add the beef back to the pan and pour in the sauce mixture. Stir until the sauce thickens and coats all ingredients, about 1-2 minutes.
05 - Serve hot over rice.
