Cook the bacon using your preferred method. Drain the bacon on a paper towel.

Butter each slice of bread on one side only with butter or mayonnaise if using.

Place the bread butter-side down on a hot skillet. Top with the cheddar cheese slices, bacon, dill pickle slices, and Swiss cheese. Top with the second slice of bread, butter side up.

Cook over medium-low heat, flipping halfway until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted.
