01 -
Fill a large, sturdy pot with oil until it’s about 2 inches deep. Turn the heat to medium-high, and let it warm up to 375°F. To be sure, check the temperature using a kitchen thermometer.
02 -
As the oil heats up, combine the flour, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish or on a plate. Mix it together well.
03 -
Pour the hot sauce and water into the dry mix, stirring until the mixture is completely smooth. This will be the batter for your pickles.
04 -
Dip the pickle slices into the batter. Make sure they’re covered all over before frying.
05 -
Carefully place the coated pickle slices into the hot oil, one at a time. Fry them in small amounts (too many at once will make it harder for them to cook right) for 1-2 minutes per side, or until they’re crunchy and gold-colored.
06 -
Use a slotted spoon to take out the fried pickles. Set them on some paper towels so the extra grease soaks off. Serve them while they’re still warm with a dipping sauce you love.
