Hobo Casserole Dinner (Print Format)

Layers of savory ground beef, thin slices of potatoes, and gooey cheddar in a creamy mushroom base make the ultimate comfort meal.

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 medium onion, finely chopped
02 - 1 lb ground turkey or beef
03 - ½ cup milk (any type works)
04 - 1 can (10.5 oz) mushroom soup
05 - 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
06 - Salt and pepper for seasoning
07 - 4 medium potatoes, sliced super thin (⅛ inch)
08 - 1 tbsp butter or olive oil
09 - 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

→ Optional Garnish

10 - Chopped green onions, parsley, or chives

# Steps:

01 - Turn on your oven and set it to 350°F (175°C) to preheat.
02 - Warm up some butter or oil in a pan. Cook the onions with the ground beef until the meat's fully browned, then drain the extra grease.
03 - Stir together the mushroom soup, Worcestershire sauce, milk, and a little bit of salt and pepper in a mixing bowl.
04 - Grease a baking dish. Add a layer of thin potato slices, pour over the beef mixture, and sprinkle half the shredded cheese on top. Repeat everything to make another layer.
05 - Evenly pour your soup mixture all over what you just layered.
06 - Wrap the dish with foil and pop it into the oven for 45 minutes.
07 - Pull off the foil and let it bake another 15 minutes. The potatoes should be soft and the cheese all melty.
08 - Sprinkle with chives, parsley, or green onions if you'd like, and enjoy!

# Tips:

01 - Ground turkey works great as a lower-fat choice.
02 - Want extra veggies? Toss in carrots or peas.
03 - Thinly slice the potatoes so they cook up nice and even.
04 - Leftovers taste amazing and reheat like a charm!
