Sweet Glazed Ham (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 fully cooked city ham, spiral-sliced (6 to 9 pounds).
02 - 1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar.
03 - 12 ounces of cola or Dr. Pepper.
04 - 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar.
05 - 1½ tablespoons of grainy-style mustard.
06 - 1½ tablespoons Dijon mustard.
07 - 1 tablespoon soy sauce, lower sodium.
08 - 1 teaspoon powdered ginger.
09 - ¼ teaspoon of kosher salt.
10 - ½ teaspoon onion powder.
11 - ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes, crushed.
12 - One large can (20 ounces) crushed pineapple.

# Instructions:

01 - Combine glaze ingredients in a pot. Heat until boiling, then cook slowly on low for 20–30 minutes until thick.
02 - Set your oven to 325°F and let it warm up.
03 - Slice shallow crisscross cuts across the ham—about ½ inch deep and 1 inch apart. Wrap up the ham and bake for 1 hour.
04 - Spread half the glaze all over the ham, making sure it gets into the cuts.
05 - Press crushed pineapple into the cuts and pour half of the remaining glaze over the ham.
06 - Let it bake uncovered for 15 minutes.
07 - Keep cooking, while brushing pan juices on top every 10 minutes, until the ham reaches 140°F. This should take 40–60 minutes total.

# Notes:

01 - Stick to canned pineapple—using fresh can make the ham fall apart.
02 - Store in the fridge for 4 days or in the freezer for up to 2 months.
