In a large Dutch oven over medium heat, melt the butter and brown the sausage links on all sides.

Remove the sausage from the pan and slice it into ½-inch thick pieces, then return the slices to the pan.

Add ground beef, onions, and jalapenos to the pan. Cook until the beef is no longer pink and the onions and peppers are softened. Drain the grease and return everything to the pan.

Sprinkle oregano, basil, and black pepper into the meat mixture and stir well.

Pour in the tomato sauce, tomato paste, and diced tomatoes. Stir to combine, cover, and let simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add the beef broth and rotini pasta to the pan. Stir and cook until the pasta is tender.

Remove the pan from heat and stir in the shredded mozzarella cheese until melted.
