Knock You Naked Bars (Print Format)

Crunchy, gooey, sweet bars with chocolate and caramel layers, a memorable treat for gatherings or dessert cravings.

# Ingredients:

→ Bars

01 - 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 1 teaspoon baking soda
03 - 1 teaspoon salt
04 - 1 cup butter, softened
05 - 3/4 cup sugar
06 - 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
07 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
08 - 2 eggs, room temperature
09 - 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

→ Caramel Sauce

10 - 5 ounces evaporated milk
11 - 1 bag (14 oz) caramels
12 - 1/2 cup peanut butter

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9 x 13 inch pan. Set aside.
02 - Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl.
03 - In a large mixing bowl, beat butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
04 - Gradually mix in the flour mixture. Fold in the chocolate chips.
05 - Spread half of the cookie dough mixture into the prepared pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes. Remove from oven.
06 - Melt caramels and evaporated milk in a double boiler. Stir in peanut butter once caramels are completely melted. Mix thoroughly.
07 - Spread the caramel sauce over the partially baked cookie dough base. Drop spoonfuls of the remaining cookie dough on top of the caramel layer.
08 - Return the pan to the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until the top is light golden brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool before serving.
