Chicken Parmesan Cheese Melt (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Sandwich Components

01 - 2 slices of sourdough or Italian bread
02 - 1 breaded chicken patty that's cooked or leftover chicken parmesan
03 - 2 mozzarella cheese slices
04 - 2 tablespoons of marinara sauce
05 - 1 tablespoon of softened butter
06 - Optional: grated Parmesan cheese to sprinkle on top

# Instructions:

01 - Warm up your skillet on medium heat. Take your bread slices and spread butter on one side of each piece while the skillet is heating up.
02 - Put one buttered bread slice (buttered part facing down) on the skillet. Layer it in this order: cheese slice, chicken patty, marinara sauce, another cheese slice. Place the top slice of bread (buttered side facing up).
03 - Cook the sandwich for about 3-4 minutes on each side. Flip when a crispy golden brown crust forms, and the cheese has melted. If you'd like, sprinkle with Parmesan before serving.

# Notes:

01 - Swap out the breaded chicken for grilled, and use whole grain bread to make it lighter. Add garlic powder or fresh basil leaves to jazz up the flavor!
