01 -
Place bread dough on a lightly greased baking sheet. Pat into a 15 x 10-inch rectangle.
02 -
Layer ham slices lengthwise down the center of the dough. Add pepperoni on top, followed by salami if using. Sprinkle with 1/4 teaspoon dried basil and 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano.
03 -
Place the provolone cheese slices over the herbs and top with shredded mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle the remaining basil and oregano over the cheese.
04 -
Moisten all edges of the dough with water. Bring the long edges of the dough to the center and press securely to seal. Seal both ends as well.
05 -
Brush the dough with 1 tablespoon of melted butter and sprinkle with cornmeal if using. Carefully invert the dough so that the seam side faces down. Brush the top with the remaining melted butter.
06 -
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-22 minutes, or until browned.
07 -
Remove from the oven and transfer to a cutting board. Allow it to cool for 5 minutes. Slice horizontally with a serrated knife. For smaller portions, cut vertically down the center first, then slice horizontally.
