Silky vanilla pudding, bananas, and soft wafers blend into a classic, nostalgic dessert everyone will love.

# Ingredients:

→ Pudding Base

01 - 4 cups whole milk
02 - 4 egg yolks
03 - ¼ cup plus 1 tablespoon cornstarch
04 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
05 - ½ cup white sugar

→ Topping and Layers

06 - 3 ripe bananas, sliced
07 - 15 ounces vanilla wafer cookies

# Steps:

01 - In a large skillet over low heat, combine whole milk, egg yolks, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and sugar. Whisk thoroughly and cook, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens and begins to lightly simmer. Remove from heat and allow it to cool slightly.
02 - Place a layer of vanilla wafer cookies in the bottom of a 7x11 baking dish. Add 2 sliced bananas evenly over the cookies.
03 - Spread the warm pudding evenly over the cookie and banana layers.
04 - Add another layer of vanilla wafer cookies on top of the pudding. Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4–6 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld and the cookies to soften.
05 - Before serving, top with 1 freshly sliced banana and crushed cookies. Serve immediately and enjoy.

# Tips:

01 - Letting the pudding rest overnight enhances the flavors and softens the cookies.
02 - This dessert can be stored in the refrigerator for 3–4 days.
03 - For a sweeter pudding, consider increasing the sugar to ¾ cup based on personal preference.
