01 -
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
02 -
In a large bowl, combine white cake mix, water, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix on medium speed for 2 minutes until well-combined. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
03 -
Bake in the preheated oven for 26-32 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove from the oven.
04 -
Immediately after removing the cake from the oven, use the end of a wooden spoon or a skewer to poke holes all over the surface of the cake.
05 -
In a medium bowl, dissolve the orange Jello gelatin in boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved. Add the cold orange Crush soda and mix well.
06 -
Slowly pour the Jello mixture over the cake, ensuring it fills all the holes. Cover the cake and refrigerate for 1-2 hours.
07 -
Spread Cool Whip whipped topping evenly over the chilled cake. Decorate with orange sprinkles, if desired.
08 -
Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours before serving. Garnish with drained mandarin oranges, if using.
