Pizza Boats French Bread (Print Format)

Crisp French bread loaded with sauce, cheese, and pepperoni for a fun, quick dinner kids and adults love.

# Ingredients:

01 - 16 oz Italian bread loaf
02 - 16 oz ground turkey breast, 99% fat free
03 - 24 oz jarred pasta sauce
04 - 8 oz shredded pizza cheese
05 - 18 slices pepperoni
06 - 1 tsp Italian seasoning
07 - 1/2 tsp salt

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 450°F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
02 - Cut the bread in half lengthwise. Scoop out a small amount from the center and press down with the back of a spoon to create a slight hollow, leaving a raised edge.
03 - In a nonstick pan over medium-high heat, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Cook the ground turkey, breaking it into small pieces. Season with Italian seasoning and salt.
04 - Pour the jar of pasta sauce into the pan with the turkey. Stir well and simmer for a few minutes.
05 - Spread about 1 cup of the cooked sauce evenly on each bread half. Top each with 1 cup of shredded Italian cheese and evenly distribute the pepperoni slices.
06 - Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted. Slice and serve with additional sauce for dipping.
