01 -
Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 -
Unroll the crescent dough. Separate it into triangles. Cut each triangle into several narrow strips long enough to wrap around a mini sausage.
03 -
Wrap one strip of dough around each sausage, leaving the ends slightly visible. For a pumpkin-style look, wrap the dough so the sausage looks slightly rounded rather than tightly spiraled.
04 -
If desired, gently press shallow vertical lines into the dough with the back of a knife to resemble pumpkin ridges. Do not cut through the dough.
05 -
Place each wrapped sausage seam-side down on the baking sheet. Leave a little space between each piece.
06 -
Whisk together the egg and water. Brush the crescent dough lightly with the egg wash to help create a deeper golden-orange appearance.
07 -
Sprinkle dough lightly with garlic powder, smoked paprika, Parmesan, and a pinch of black pepper for additional flavor and fall color.
08 -
Bake in the preheated oven for 12–16 minutes or until the crescent dough is puffed and golden brown.
09 -
Let the pigs in a blanket cool for a few minutes. Insert a small piece of pretzel stick into the top of each one to create a pumpkin stem.
10 -
Place a tiny piece of parsley or chive near the pretzel stem to create a pumpkin vine effect.
11 -
Arrange the prepared pigs in a blanket on a platter to resemble a pumpkin patch and serve warm with dipping sauces.
