Savory Candied Yams Bacon Pecans (Print Format)

01 - 4 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and diced
02 - 4 slices bacon, chopped
03 - 1/4 cup unsalted butter
04 - 1/4 cup brown sugar
05 - 2 tablespoons maple syrup
06 - 1 teaspoon cinnamon
07 - 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
08 - 1/2 cup chopped pecans
09 - Salt, to taste
10 - Pepper, to taste

# Steps:

01 - Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels, reserving about 1 tablespoon bacon grease in the skillet.
02 - Add butter to the skillet with the reserved bacon grease; melt over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened.
03 - Add diced sweet potatoes; toss to coat in glaze. Cover and cook over medium-low heat for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until yams are tender and caramelized.
04 - Stir in crispy bacon and pecans; cook for 2–3 minutes to warm through.
05 - Transfer to a serving dish and serve warm.
