Slow Cooker Green Beans Ham (Print Format)

Green beans and potatoes gently cooked with ham in a flavorful broth for a satisfying dish.

# Ingredients:

→ Vegetables

01 - 2 pounds fresh green beans, rinsed and trimmed
02 - 1 large onion, chopped
03 - 1½ pounds new potatoes, quartered

→ Meat

04 - 3 ham hocks

→ Seasonings

05 - 1 tablespoon chicken bouillon granules
06 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
07 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
08 - 1 teaspoon seasoning salt
09 - Ground black pepper, to taste

# Steps:

01 - Trim and halve green beans if large. Place green beans in slow cooker and add enough water to barely cover. Add ham hocks and chopped onion. Cover and cook on High until simmering.
02 - Reduce heat to Low and cook until green beans are crisp-tender but not fully done, approximately 2 to 3 hours.
03 - Remove ham hocks from slow cooker. Add quartered potatoes and cook on Low for 45 minutes.
04 - While potatoes cook, remove ham meat from bones. Chop or shred the ham meat and return it to the slow cooker.
05 - Add chicken bouillon granules, garlic powder, onion powder, seasoning salt, and ground black pepper to the slow cooker. Stir gently to incorporate.
06 - Using a slotted spoon, transfer green beans, potatoes, and ham into a serving dish along with a small amount of broth.

# Tips:

01 - Freeze any leftover cooking liquid to use later in soups, ham and cabbage dishes, or for boiling dumplings.
