01 -
Cook elbow macaroni in salted water according to the package directions. Drain and mix with butter.
02 -
Slice the smoked sausage into 1/2-inch or thinner pieces. Heat vegetable oil in a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sausage and sear the edges, flipping often until browned on both sides. Remove the sausage and set aside.
03 -
Reduce skillet heat to medium. Add the cooked macaroni mixed with butter into the skillet. Pour in milk and evaporated milk, stirring to combine.
04 -
Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the macaroni mixture. Cut Velveeta cheese into small cubes and distribute evenly on top. Cover the skillet with a lid and warm the mixture for 5 to 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and the milk is warm. Stir thoroughly.
05 -
Add the browned sausage to the macaroni and cheese, either by sprinkling it on top or mixing it in. Heat for an additional 1 to 2 minutes until the sausage is warm. Serve immediately and enjoy.
