Quick Cajun Pasta (Print Format)

Savor this zesty pasta mix of sausage, bell peppers, and a rich Cajun cream sauce. Light and flavorful in 30 minutes.

# Ingredients:

01 - 300 g (10.5 oz) of pasta.
02 - 1 tbsp olive oil.
03 - 450 g (1 lb) of sausages, pork or beef.
04 - 1 large shallot, minced.
05 - 1 red pepper, thinly sliced.
06 - Two large cloves of garlic, minced.
07 - 1/2 tbsp oregano, dried.
08 - 3 tbsp Cajun spices.
09 - 2 tbsp tomato paste.
10 - 100 g (1/2 cup) of cream cheese, low-fat.
11 - 30 g (1/3 cup) Parmesan, grated.
12 - Fresh parsley, chopped (2-3 tbsp).
13 - Salt and ground black pepper to your preference.

# Steps:

01 - Boil the pasta in salty water as mentioned on the package. Save 2 cups of the starchy water before draining.
02 - Cook the sausages for 4–5 minutes, breaking them apart. Toss in the pepper and shallot, cooking until soft.
03 - Mix in the Cajun spices, garlic, and oregano. Let it all cook for about a minute.
04 - Pour in a cup of pasta water and stir in the tomato paste. Add the cream cheese and let it blend until smooth.
05 - Combine the sauce with pasta, Parmesan, and parsley. Add salt and pepper if needed, then serve.

# Tips:

01 - Don’t forget to save the starchy pasta water.
02 - Either beef or pork sausages can work.
03 - Use less Cajun spice if you want a milder flavor.
