Steak Stuffed Bread Boat (Print Format)

Seared steak, caramelized onions, and cheese tucked into garlic-buttered French bread, baked or grilled to golden perfection.

# Ingredients:

→ Roasted Garlic Butter

01 - 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
02 - 1 whole head roasted garlic
03 - 1 tsp fresh chives, finely chopped, plus more for garnish

→ Steak & Onions

04 - 3-4 strip steaks, about 8 oz each
05 - Preferred steak seasoning
06 - 1 large sweet onion, sliced

→ Bread Boat Build

07 - 1 large French loaf
08 - 8 slices pepper jack cheese

# Steps:

01 - Roast garlic at 400°F for 35-40 minutes until soft. Blend with softened butter and chives until smooth.
02 - Season strip steaks generously. Sear over high heat to preferred doneness. Rest 5-10 minutes, then slice thin against the grain.
03 - In the same pan, sauté sliced sweet onion in steak drippings until soft and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
04 - Slice French loaf lengthwise and hollow out its center. Spread roasted garlic butter inside. Layer onions, sliced steak, and pepper jack cheese.
05 - Grill or bake at 375°F until cheese is melted, bubbly, and the bread is toasted golden. Garnish with fresh chives.
06 - Cut into portions and serve hot.

# Tips:

01 - Allow the steak to rest before slicing to retain juiciness.
02 - Hollowing out the bread reduces sogginess and provides a space to hold the fillings.
