01 -
Insert wooden sticks into the top of each apple, about halfway through, and ensure they are secure. Pat the apples dry thoroughly with a paper towel to remove moisture that could prevent the chocolate from adhering.
02 -
Using the microwave method, place the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until fully melted and smooth. Alternatively, use a double boiler to melt the chocolate with more control.
03 -
Hold each apple by the stick and dip into the melted chocolate, turning to coat evenly. Let any excess chocolate drip back into the bowl. Immediately roll the coated apple in crushed freeze-dried strawberries and crushed shortcake cookies to cover evenly.
04 -
Place the coated apples on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Lightly sprinkle powdered sugar over the tops to give them a finished look. Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until the chocolate sets completely.
