01 -
Crank up the oven to 350°F (175°C). Coat a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter and a dusting of flour, or just use parchment paper for an easier clean-up.
02 -
In a mixing bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Make sure they're mixed evenly.
03 -
In another bowl, beat the eggs, milk, vanilla, and melted butter until it's all one smooth liquid.
04 -
Pour the wet mix into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Gently blend until just combined—don’t stir too much or the texture won’t be soft.
05 -
Mix the cinnamon and brown sugar together in a small dish until it looks even.
06 -
Spread half the batter into the loaf pan, then sprinkle on half of the cinnamon mix. Toss the rest of the batter on top and smooth it out, topping it all with the leftover cinnamon mix.
07 -
Using a skewer or butter knife, swirl the cinnamon through the batter to make a nice pattern. Don’t overdo it—just a few loops are good.
08 -
Slide the pan into the oven and let it bake for 40-50 minutes. It's ready when a toothpick in the center comes out mostly clean, and the top has a golden finish.
09 -
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before moving it to a cooling rack. Prepare your icing while you wait.
10 -
In a bowl, mix the powdered sugar, melted butter, milk (or heavy cream), vanilla, and salt until smooth. Add a splash more milk or sugar if you need to tweak the thickness.
11 -
Once the bread's warm but not hot, pour the icing over it so it drips down the sides.
12 -
Slice the loaf into about 12 pieces and dig in! It’s delicious on its own or paired with tea or coffee.
