Preheat oven to 350℉ and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Brown the ground beef in a skillet and drain the excess grease. Return the skillet to the stovetop, add the taco seasoning, salsa, and water, then stir and cook until thickened.

Unroll the pizza dough onto the parchment paper and press it into a rectangle shape.

Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheese down the center of the dough. Spoon the taco meat over the cheese and add the remaining cheese on top.

Use a pizza cutter to cut each side of the dough into about 12 strips. Fold the strips over the filling, alternating sides to create a braid.

In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water. Brush the egg wash over the dough.

Bake the taco braid for 22-25 minutes, or until golden brown on top.

Slice the taco braid and serve warm with optional toppings such as sour cream, taco sauce, lettuce, or avocado.
