Turtle Fudge Chocolate Caramel (Print Format)

Rich chocolate turtle fudge layered with caramel and pecans. Gooey, nutty, and ready in minutes.

# Ingredients:

→ Caramel Layer

01 - 12 ounces caramel squares (approximately 42 squares)
02 - 2-3 tablespoons whipping cream, divided if needed

→ Chocolate Layer

03 - 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (12 ounces)
04 - 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
05 - ½ tablespoon vanilla extract
06 - Pinch of salt
07 - 1 cup chopped pecans (plus more for optional topping)

# Steps:

01 - Grease and line an 8x8 inch square pan with parchment paper.
02 - Bring a small amount of water to boil in a small pot, then place a heat-safe bowl on top. Add caramel squares and 2 tablespoons of whipping cream. Melt on low until smooth, stirring occasionally. If caramel does not smooth out, add the additional tablespoon of whipping cream and mix well. Remove from heat and keep the bowl over the pot to stay warm.
03 - In a medium-small pot, melt together chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and salt over low heat until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped pecans.
04 - Pour half (or more, depending on desired layer thickness) of the chocolate mixture into the prepared 8x8 pan. Spread the caramel layer over it, followed by the remaining chocolate mixture.
05 - Using a knife, swirl the layers together to create a marbled effect. Optionally, top with additional chopped pecans.
06 - Let the fudge rest for 2 hours until fully set. Cut into squares of the desired size and serve.

# Tips:

01 - Ensure caramel is melted thoroughly and smoothly to achieve the perfect gooey texture.
02 - Store the fudge in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
