Cool peppermint filling meets smooth chocolate in these delightful homemade mint patties.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/3 cup light corn syrup
02 - 5 tablespoons butter, softened
03 - 1 1/2 teaspoons mint extract
04 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
05 - Green food coloring, start with a couple drops and add more until desired color is achieved
06 - 4-5 cups powdered sugar
07 - 10 ounces chocolate candy coating (e.g., CandiQuik)

# Steps:

01 - Combine light corn syrup, softened butter, mint extract, salt, and green food coloring in a medium-sized bowl. Stir until well mixed.
02 - Gradually stir in 1 cup of powdered sugar at a time until the mixture becomes too stiff to stir.
03 - Add more powdered sugar and knead the mixture by hand until it no longer sticks to your hands, adding additional powdered sugar as needed.
04 - Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place them on wax paper-lined baking sheets. Flatten each ball using the bottom of a flat cup or your hand.
05 - Cover patties with another sheet of wax paper and refrigerate for 60-90 minutes until firm.
06 - Melt the chocolate candy coating according to the package directions.
07 - Dip each patty into the melted chocolate using a fork, tap off excess chocolate, and place back on the wax paper.
08 - Let the chocolates set until firm. Store in an airtight container or freeze in single layers separated by waxed paper as desired.

# Tips:

01 - Candies can be frozen in single layers separated by waxed paper to maintain freshness.
