Fun Easter treat (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Rice Krispie Layer

01 - About 7 cups of crispy Rice Krispies cereal
02 - 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter for melting
03 - 16 ounces of marshmallows (either mini or jumbo are fine)

→ Creamy Frosting

04 - Half a cup of soft unsalted butter
05 - 3 to 4 cups of powdered sugar, depending on sweetness preferred
06 - A quarter cup of milk
07 - A teaspoon of vanilla for flavor
08 - Green-colored food dye

→ Toppings

09 - Candies shaped like Easter eggs (mini chocolates or jelly beans work great)

# Instructions:

01 - Use some butter or spray oil to coat your cupcake pan. Leave it aside for now.
02 - In a big microwaveable bowl, mix butter and marshmallows. Microwave them for around 2 minutes while watching closely so they don’t overflow as the marshmallows puff up.
03 - Give the melted marshmallows and butter a good stir until smooth. Then, pour in the Rice Krispies and mix until the cereal is completely coated.
04 - Scoop portions of the Rice Krispie mixture into the prepared cupcake pan. Gently press down in the center using wax paper to make a hollow nest shape with edges that are slightly taller.
05 - Let the Krispie nests sit at room temperature to cool and harden for at least 30 minutes before popping them out of the pan.
06 - In another bowl, beat softened butter, milk, vanilla, and 2 cups of powdered sugar for 5 minutes until light and creamy. Slowly add more powdered sugar until it reaches your desired thickness.
07 - Mix in green food coloring little by little until the frosting looks grass-green and evenly tinted.
08 - After the nests have firmed up, decorate by piping green frosting onto the nests. Use a grass piping tip if you have one, but any tip with several small openings will work. Place a few egg-shaped candies on top of each frosted nest.

# Notes:

01 - Store these in an airtight container at room temperature if made a day ahead.
02 - Gel food colors give a brighter green compared to liquid ones.
03 - No piping bag at home? Use a zip bag and cut a corner to pipe frosting.
