Homemade Lemon Bars (Print Format)

Zesty lemon bars paired with a buttery crust and a tangy filling, finished off with a sprinkle of powdered sugar.

# Ingredients:

→ Crust Base

01 - 2 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
03 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
04 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
05 - 1 cup unsalted butter, melted

→ Lemon Layer

06 - 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
07 - 3/4 cup fresh lemon juice
08 - 2 tablespoons lemon zest
09 - 6 large eggs
10 - 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
11 - 2 cups granulated sugar

# Steps:

01 - Turn on the oven to 350°F. Cover a 9x13 pan with parchment paper.
02 - Stir together butter, sugar, salt, and vanilla. Gently mix in the flour. Press firmly into the pan.
03 - Pop it in the oven for 20 minutes. It should barely get golden.
04 - In a big bowl, whisk the sugar, flour, eggs, zest, and lemon juice. Pour onto hot crust.
05 - Bake another 25 minutes, spinning the pan halfway through. Let it cool, then keep it in the fridge for 2 hours or overnight. Sprinkle powdered sugar before serving.
