Old-Fashioned Peanut Butter Fudge (Print Format)

Smooth, old-fashioned peanut butter fudge with a creamy bite and nostalgic flavor. Easy and perfect for sharing.

# Ingredients:

→ Fudge Base

01 - 2 cups granulated sugar
02 - ⅔ cup evaporated milk
03 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
04 - ¾ cup creamy peanut butter
05 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
06 - ¼ teaspoon salt

→ Optional Add-Ins

07 - ½ cup chopped roasted peanuts
08 - ½ cup mini marshmallows
09 - ½ cup chocolate chips
10 - Flaky salt for topping

# Steps:

01 - Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper. Leave parchment overhang for easy removal. Lightly butter the parchment if desired.
02 - Measure the peanut butter, butter, vanilla, and salt before starting to cook.
03 - In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine granulated sugar and evaporated milk. Stir over medium heat until the sugar is fully dissolved.
04 - Bring the mixture to a steady boil, then reduce stirring. Attach a candy thermometer and cook until the mixture reaches 234–236°F (soft-ball stage).
05 - Immediately remove from the heat. Add the butter, peanut butter, vanilla, and salt.
06 - Vigorously stir until all ingredients are fully combined and the mixture is smooth, thick, and glossy.
07 - Fold in any desired optional mix-ins like marshmallows or nuts before the fudge starts setting.
08 - Quickly pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan, smoothing the top gently. Avoid over-stirring.
09 - Allow the fudge to cool completely at room temperature for 2–3 hours until firm.
10 - Lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper. Cut into small squares using a sharp knife.

# Tips:

01 - For the most reliable texture, use smooth, conventional peanut butter instead of natural varieties. A candy thermometer is recommended for success.
