Polish Potato Babka Delight (Print Format)

A comforting baked potato dish with crispy bacon, onions, and aromatic spices.

# Ingredients:

01 - 3 lb potatoes, peeled and grated
02 - 2 large onions, grated

→ Meat

03 - 8 oz bacon, chopped

→ Dairy & Eggs

04 - 3 large eggs
05 - 1/2 cup yogurt
06 - 2 tbsp butter, for greasing

→ Dry Ingredients & Seasonings

07 - 1/4 cup potato starch
08 - 1 tsp dried marjoram
09 - 1 tsp salt
10 - 1/2 tsp black pepper
11 - 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

# Steps:

01 - Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and generously grease a baking dish with butter.
02 - Cook the chopped bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
03 - Grate the potatoes and onions using a fine grater. Place them in a large bowl and firmly squeeze out all excess liquid.
04 - Add the cooked bacon, eggs, potato starch, yogurt, dried marjoram, salt, pepper, and nutmeg to the grated potatoes and onions. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
05 - Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading evenly. Bake for 1 hour or until the top turns golden brown and crispy.
06 - Allow to cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm, optionally accompanied by sour cream or additional yogurt.

# Tips:

01 - For a vegetarian variation, omit bacon and substitute with sautéed mushrooms or spinach. Adjust seasoning to taste.
