The image shows a washing-machine detergent dispenser drawer, not a laundry sink or soaking tub. The red 1, 2 and 3 in the graphic are added labels; use the symbols molded into your own drawer and the machine’s manual to identify each compartment.
Step 1: The common symbols
On many manual-dose front loaders, I marks the prewash detergent compartment, II marks main-wash detergent, and a flower symbol marks fabric softener. Samsung’s drawer guide describes these roles and model differences. Automatic-dosing models can use a different arrangement.
Step 2: Read the pictured layout carefully
The wide left compartment appears to be marked II, making it the likely main-wash section. The blue insert is consistent with a softener siphon assembly, but the small photo does not clearly show every molded symbol. Do not rely on the red overlay numbers as a universal order.
Step 3: Use the right amount and compartment
Follow the detergent label for load size, soil and water hardness, and stay below any MAX line. Put prewash detergent in I only when using a prewash cycle. Liquid detergent may require an insert or flap; powder and capsules have different instructions. Pods usually go in the drum when their label says so, not in a drawer compartment.
Step 4: Keep the dispenser clean
If the manual allows drawer removal, release it as directed, rinse residue from removable parts and refit the inserts correctly. A blocked siphon can leave softener behind. Do not combine cleaners or pour unrelated household mixtures into the drawer.
